I skipped the cheekbones and square jaw, only shaved 5mm off my front chin. 1. My chin is breaking out like crazy with cystic acne for no reason. Nothing works, and it's been constant ever since the surgery. 2. My teeth got super weak. Right before the surgery, when I was signing the consent form, they suddenly rattled off side effects like 'teeth might fall out, loosen, or crack'โstuff they never mentioned during the consultation. I'd already paid the deposit, so I couldn't exactly back out then and just went into the OR... Thankfully, none of my teeth fell out, but when I went to the dentist later, he took one look and asked if Iโd had braces because my teeth were so weak. When I told him I had jaw surgery, he just sighed and told me I have to be extremely careful or Iโll end up with multiple implants at a young age. He spent a long time staring at my X-ray with a dead serious face. I Googled a lot about tooth damage after contouring, and apparently, I got off easy. Some people have their molars and front teeth loosen and fall out along the jawline, or their alveolar bone collapses and they need bone grafts. Since they cut the gums right under the tooth bone, the impact on the teeth seems inevitable. Even braces weaken your teeth, so a surgical procedure like contouring must be worse. Plastic surgeons don't mention this; if you ask during consultation, they just brush it off saying itโs temporary and will get better. 3. My mouth feels super tight, like Iโm wearing braces. Sometimes it's painful enough to bring me to tears. People say it gets better over time, but I've seen reviews from people 10 years out who still live with this tightness. 4. Sensation loss. Even after a long time, it doesn't fully come back. This side effect is so famous I won't even elaborate. 5. Getting the stitches out hurt like absolute f*cking hell. I wanted to ask for IV sedation, it was that bad. The recovery weeks were so painful I never want to do it again. I only did one part; I have no idea how people who do the 'full 3-part set' or double jaw surgery handle it. Especially right after waking up from general anesthesiaโit's literal hell. 6. People can't really tell I had it done. I feel like my chin looks shorter in selfies, but people around me don't even realize my face changed. Contouring isn't a surgery that turns you into a beauty; it's a surgery to fix flaws. Sagging skin isn't the only problem. There's a reason plastic surgery YouTube channels only emphasize saggingโthey act all 'honest' by saying 'only patients who can handle this should do it,' which builds trust. Then they bait you by saying you can just get a lifting procedure or that everyone sags as they age anyway lol. No one ever mentions the other side effects lol. Then the consultant rattles them off like a machine gun right before you sign the consent form lol.
"Users are horrified by the long-term side effects and the shady clinic tactic of hiding risks until the very last second."
