Honestly, I wanted to vlog us (average age 30) playing YouTuber together, but I couldn't even face the editing... so I’m posting it like this instead. This is a post introducing 'our' skincare routine as Beauty YouTubers, Valued Customer^^.
The three of us have been playing 'Dermatologist' since we were kids... and as we got older and started actually going to clinics, we've gotten a lot more detailed. FYI, I am not a professional, Valued Customer^^.
Peeling -> Oil -> Massage -> Device -> Modeling Pack -> Ampoule/Lotion finish. I organized this in the order I usually get at a shop lol. All the products are just stuff we use at home, so please excuse the mess, Valued Customer^^.
Exfoliation - Tonymoly Peeling Gel. If you do this lying down like you're at a clinic, it feels dirty yet fresh. To mimic the clinic: 1. Wipe the face with warm water, apply peeling gel, and let it dry slightly. 2. When it's moderately dry, roll it gently to peel off the dried gel. Focus on the sides of the nose, between the brows, and the tip of the chin where dead skin builds up (the gel clumps up like eraser shavings and takes the dead skin with it).
When you wipe everything off with a warm towel or sponge after exfoliating, your skin feels squeaky clean. But don't let your guard down here. Since the skin is irritated after peeling, you MUST apply lotion or something. If you leave it as is, it might feel a bit tight, Valued Customer^^.
Oil - S-Nature Jojoba Oil. Clinic mimicry: After exfoliating, drop a few drops of soothing oil on the skin. It's a good ingredient for the skin, but the real purpose of this oil is actually something else.
It's so my knuckles can slide well^^ just like you use oil with a Gua Sha, this is to grease the wheels so the 'tool' (my hands) can slide for the face massage... I asked the teacher at the shop which oil is good, and they recommended Jojoba, so that's what I'm using (probably not the exact one they use, I just found this one myself). I don't use it every day, but it's great for rubbing the face before a cold compress when it's puffy in the morning. Since I'm Oily/Dehydrated, I don't use it as a finish, but use it at the start of the routine. If you wrap your face with your warm palms, it absorbs better and makes the base products go on well.
Device - Cryosonic. The middle sister dropped big bucks on this beauty device and told me she'd let me use it if I 'did her face,' which is how this clinic roleplay officially started... so you could call this the core of our DIY skin clinic. Honestly, they use huge machines at the shops, and I was always sad I couldn't have one at home, but this satisfied that craving^^ There are 5 modes, but we only used 2 this time.
Using the Elasticity and Glow modes... this is just a drawing, but I believe you can see it with your mind's eye... that glow flowing like it's been ironed... I'm a tech illiterate so I read the manual every time, but I've almost got the hang of it now.
Modeling Pack - Sungboon Editor Boosting Modeling Pack. There are many types, but I never dared to buy the bulk ones. Then our middle sister found this innovative thing and we love it. Usually, we do sheet masks, but when the middle one wants to do this, she prepares it... She gave me a few too, so I'm grateful(?) No need for a separate bowl, just mix-mix-mix x33 in the packaging and apply. Then you just talk smack about the middle and youngest sisters until it dries. I didn't expect much at first, but the soothing effect is pretty good. There are three types, but I liked the green one (soothing) best. Especially if you apply it cold, it feels like the pores are tightening and the cooling sensation is great.
Ampoule - Estee Lauder 'Brown Bottle'. Do I even need to say how good the Brown Bottle is?^^ It was a whole new world when I first used it. I could feel my visible pores getting softer. And since it's expensive, don't let a single drop fly away—make sure it absorbs well into the face. Usually, at a shop, they just apply it and move on, but I rub it in until it's almost fully absorbed. Not just rubbing it with hands, but switching the device to absorption mode to really sink it in. If you use high-end base products, I highly recommend using at least a galvanic device... delivering it into the skin is the real game-changer.
Lotion - Eclado Memory Cell Cream. Finishing up with a cream that isn't heavy but is super hydrating. I really recommend this cream because I've never broken out from it... and it catches the dryness well and makes the skin bouncy. Also, the texture is so cool. It's not common; it's like a sherbet, but when it touches body heat, it melts thinly and goes on smooth. In a shop, it would end here, but I can't give up the galvanic device.
x2 Absorption Repeat. And finally...
I'll iron the customer's face with the 'Cryo' mode, fitting its name^^ Cryo = Cooling function. It's probably exactly what you're imagining—rubbing the face with the cold side. You can feel the pores shrinking immediately (I mean... it's really cold), and it feels like that adds up to lift the elasticity, so it feels good^^ This is the routine I do (& give). It might have been a bit chaotic, so let's summarize the routine order: 1. Peeling: Tonymoly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel. Gentle. No strong irritation during peeling, but can feel tight if left alone. Clumps up a bit, but smooth and great value. If this is too strong, I also recommend Herbloom Peeling Gel. 2. Oil: S-Nature Jojoba Oil. I haven't tried others so no comparison, but it doesn't smell funky and absorbs smoothly. Definitely good for face massages before makeup. 3. Massage: Use hands or lightly use a Gua Sha. 4. Machine Massage: GlowM Cryosonic. A device is definitely more effective than hand absorption, so I totally recommend a galvanic device. If you're looking for something with more features, I recommend Cryosonic. Middle sister said she bought it after looking for the strongest cooling function, and it's honestly the best for killing puffiness and pores before makeup. 5. Modeling Pack: Sungboon Editor Boosting Modeling Pack. The biggest enemy of modeling packs, like beauty devices, is... 'Me' (laziness). This product broke that. It's one serving per cup and the packaging itself becomes the tool. Good stuff. The effect is more immediate than a sheet mask, so highly recommended for people who want easy care. 6. Ampoule: Estee Lauder Brown Bottle. It's devilishly expensive... but it's the ampoule that brought me, a former Olive Young regular, out into the world(?). It's really good. I was moved when I felt my skin change the next day after the first use. Of course, back then I had given up on skincare and didn't even use lotion, so maybe my skin was just grateful. 7. Cream: Eclado Cell Memory Cream. Mom's cosmetics... are always right. My favorite thing is the texture and spreadability + moisture retention + moisturizing without being sticky. Usually, creams are heavy so I don't reach for them, but after stealing this from Mom's vanity once, I only use this instead of lotion. This is how I'm doing it. If you're interested in skincare, doing this at home once in a while is plenty. Of course, it's a hassle... but if you play YouTuber once in a while, nothing beats it. The end..! Happy New Year!
