President Lee Jae-myung said on the 9th, “The original meaning of reform is to skin the hide,” adding, “Conflict and resistance are inevitable if we are to improve unreasonable elements and normalize things.”
Chairing a cabinet meeting at the Yongsan Presidential Office in Seoul today, President Lee stated this, saying, “I believe that is reform. If we don’t do things like that, what else can we possibly do?” This statement is interpreted as President Lee expressing his intent to push forward the plan, even as concerns about unconstitutionality arise from judicial representatives and political circles regarding the ruling party's push for a specialized rebellion/insurrection court.
President Lee said, “What we must never forget is the fact that this country belongs to the people, not a small group of power holders,” adding, “Even if interests clash and there is some friction and conflict during the policy and legislation process for the people, we must proceed with what is necessary according to the will of the people.”
These are President Lee Jae-myung's words telling them to stop bringing up the constitutional dispute.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Choo Mi-ae said the same thing.
"The 'skinning the hide' rhetoric is peak based-LJM! We stan the double entendre—it's either changing the system or literally stripping corrupt judges (and maybe those Watermelons too). Let's go!"
