Back when they were at Pobang-teo Market, Yeondon stuck to their 'line-up marketing' and refused reservations, which caused a lot of noise complaints from neighbors.
But then Baek Jong-won suddenly went on TV and teased that there was 'another reason' lol.

Production crew: *Bleeped out* the names of the four shops that appeared on the show.

I didn't buy it at first lmao.
Then they built up the narrative for the Jeju move and dipped lol.

The 'Alley Restaurant' production crew portrayed Pobang-teo in Seoul like it was freaking Gotham City until the moment they left lmao.

The Merchant Association president got so pissed he did an interview using his real name, saying none of that ever happened.
Interesting points:

1. They claimed the association was power-tripping on shops from the show, but every other shop there is doing just fine.

2. Once they moved to Jeju, the Yeondon brand launched 'Yeondon Ball Katsu' and started bleeding small business owners dry lol.
"Users are skeptical of the 'Alley Restaurant' narrative, accusing the show of villainizing local merchants to justify Yeondon's move to Jeju while roasting Baek Jong-won's business ethics."
