The 'churn and burn' contract worker to unemployed ending...
Sure, there are still places that'll actually convert you to full-time if you just work hard and don't cause trouble,
But even those places are slashing conversion rates or switching to a total 'use and discard' model...
Converting less than 10% of the staff just for show so they can say, 'Hey, we technically have a conversion path,' or just being upfront and telling you you're a short-term hire who'll 'never be regular' is actually the better scenario at this point.
There's an endless supply of 20-30s to use and toss, and even for 'temp-to-perm' postings, they have a mountain of applicants to pick and choose from.
If you get gaslit by that 'false hope' and finish your full contract a couple of times only to get dumped, your whole life path gets derailed.
"Users are cynical about the 'temp-to-perm' bait used by factories, noting that spots are often reserved for people with 'pull' while warning that Korea is following Japan's path toward a lost generation."
