If you were a Tooniverse kid back in the day, you definitely know the anime 'Kare Kano' (His and Her Circumstances). While the original manga finished properly, the anime version got axed early due to budget issues...
Here is how the original manga actually ended.
The ML (male lead) has severe trauma from being abused by his parents as a kid, so he can't truly open up to his girlfriend.
Eventually, he ends up forcing himself on the FL (female lead) in a library.
It leads straight to a 'pregnancy ending.' Right after graduating high school, the two get married. The ML gives up on college to earn money and becomes a cop, while the FL has two daughters and then goes to med school to become a doctor. The daughter they had when they were 20 ends up catching feelings for the ML's best friend... a pretty shocking ending.
