Heard there was an oyster pop-up happening inside Gwangjang Market, so I went this weekend with my friends.
It was a pop-up only running for about 3 weeks (?!). Business started at 1 PM, so I got there around 12 PM, but there was already a huge wait,, apparently, the earliest person got there at 10:50 AM. After a long wait, we ordered wild oysters like *biwi-gul* and *sambache-gul*, boiled pork slices (*suyuk*), and even had a bottle of wine.
The rock oysters (*bawi-gul*) were indeed massive. They were so big that not only women but even guys struggled to eat them in one bite.
The other oysters were fresh too. The ramen and *suyuk* were also delicious.
By 1 PM, the waitlist grew to over 70 teams, and they were told they'd have to wait about five hours.
Since it was outdoors (*nosang*), the cold weather sucked a bit, but it was still a fun time getting to eat super fresh oysters at a pop-up.
"A fiery debate erupted over oyster seller liability: Is catching norovirus the restaurant's fault, or is it just the inherent risk you take when chasing that delicious raw shellfish high?"
