The story is more nuanced than 2.
Honestly, 2 was ridiculously monotonous.
But 3 was good because the narrative of wandering and overcoming for each character was complex and well-developed.
It runs for about 3 hours and 20 minutes, and it's still worth seeing the 3D CG technology, which is currently at its absolute peak.
I went to the first screening today, and when I was leaving, there were quite a few older folks, looking like they were 50s, 60s, or even older.
I realized once again that the fate of the 10-million-viewer benchmark in the Korean film industry truly hinges on whether or not the older generation (50s/60s+) decides to open their wallets.
Considering the already expensive ticket prices, the 3-hour 20-minute runtime, and the blockbuster-level visual tech...
It looks like it will easily surpass 10 million again this time.
P.S. Now that I've watched the third one, the Na'vi females are starting to look hot.
"The critical 10M mark rests squarely on the shoulders of the 5060 crowd turning the theater into a senior center. The CG isn't 1-level revolutionary anymore, but hey, at least the Na'vi girls are starting to look cute (or scheming, depending on who you ask)."
