Minari was originally a veggie Japan barely touched. The only minari dishes were pretty much limited to nabe in Miyagi Prefecture, where it's a specialty. But then the Hallyu boom hit, word got out, and imports are steadily climbing. Seriously, even though they have the Japanese name 'Seri,' the Korean name 'Minari' is totally taking over now.
"Forget Japan, the real concern is that our domestic minari prices are gonna skyrocket! Now everyone's drooling over the idea of that perfect winter minari and samgyeopsal combo."
