I heard the news about critic Kim Young-dae on the 24th, someone I've liked for a long time, and I'm struggling with why this had to happen. Iโve been getting through lately by watching XSFM on YouTube, but seeing a reporter's post shared on SNS, it sounds like he passed away from overwork due to a killer schedule. He did so many broadcasts and constantly communicated with the community through lectures and such. He even published books... He started as a pop music expert, and using that foundation, he studied folk music and tried to spread the greatness of Korean pop music and share it with others. Those efforts will stay with people for a long time. No one can beat someone who studies that intensely and communicates constantly with such unique criticism. It's just so painful and sad that he couldn't look after his health.
