Update on the Mosu restaurant scam case.

This happened earlier this year. A phishing scammer called Mosu Seoul and claimed, 'There's a fire nearby so the lines are down, forward your calls to this number.' The employee who took the call followed the instructions, and the line was diverted to the scammer. People trying to book a table at Mosu talked to the scammer and sent deposit money to them, leading to a total loss of 13.5 million KRW. Victims demanded either a refund or for the restaurant to honor the reservations. Mosu argued that they were victims too and that they were still discussing it internally. There hadn't been an update for a while, but...

In August, they finally reached an agreement to offer a 'half-course at half-price.' No word on whether the scammer was actually caught.
"Users are debating the liability of the restaurant, with some comparing it to corporate security breaches while others feel bad for the fine dining establishment. The 'half-course settlement' is being met with some skepticism."
