It's been a little over 3 years since I started this bar. The first 2.5 years were decent, but since early last year, the whole bar scene started dying. Even the famous nearby spots used to have lines out the door, and I'd get the 'spillover' customers who got tired of waiting. Now, even those places have empty seats. The alcohol delivery manager told me alcohol orders are down over 30% across the board. Some hot spots are still booming, but anyway, I was about to quit, but decided to give it one last shot by shrinking the portions and cutting prices by half or even two-thirds. I told my wife if this doesn't work in six months, I'm folding. It's only been a few days, so the crowd hasn't grown massively yet, but it's slowly picking up and I'm seeing new regulars. Seeing customers happy makes me feel good regardless of the money. Since it's cheap, some couples order 4-5 dishes at once, so it gets hectic when orders pile up. My wife isn't too happy about that lol. The photos are Tuna Kimchi Stew (6k), Spicy Pork (6k), Rabokki (5k), and Tofu Kimchi (5k).

Edit: Whoa, didn't expect this many comments. Thanks for the support. Just to clarify, I'm not putting my entire life on the line; I just got hit with a double whammy of COVID and redevelopment issues, so the plan was just to make some living expenses for 2-3 years and get out, but it's dragging on longer than expected T_T.

"Users are cheering on the owner's budget-friendly 'small plates' strategy while commiserating over the bad economy and debating whether Costco is better than wholesale distributors."
