A bill has been passed in Vietnam mandating that ads on online platforms must be skippable within 5 seconds and must have a one-click close feature to completely shut them down.
The bill was reportedly enacted to prevent users from being forced to watch unnecessary advertisements.
Ad platforms, content providers, and publishers operating in Vietnam are responsible for deleting or correcting any violations within 24 hours of discovery and reporting them to government agencies.
The law will go into effect on February 15, 2026.
