My friend’s kid was born in August 2023, so they’re 4 in Korean age, but they still can’t speak. I’m single, so I don’t know the exact developmental stages of babies, but something feels off... I visited her place the other day, and since the kid is now 4, shouldn't they be talking? But they only say 'Mommy' and just point at things or go 'uh-uh' when they want something. It felt weird. Aren't they supposed to be fluent by now? I cautiously mentioned it to my friend like, 'The kid isn't talking much yet, huh?' and she just brushed it off saying, 'They'll talk when the time comes.' Is this really okay?
+++++++++) I posted this because I was genuinely worried about the baby, so why are so many people being so twisted about it? Which part of my post made you think that way? I don't get it. I’m honestly just concerned for my friend's child. I just wanted to see if the development is actually late, and if so, get some info on how to handle it or what treatment is best. Please don't jump to conclusions about some hidden agenda and just take what I wrote at face value.
