A webtoon again. The adaptation is completely f*cked up.

When I first read about the webtoon, I thought it was just some run-of-the-mill isekai where the MC is shallow, and his dad, that bastard, is a drunken piece of trash who abuses the territory residents.
But the comment section is going nuts. Turns out the original MC was serious and calm from the start, and the father was too busy wandering the battlefields, so they barely had any contact.
And apparently, they even shoved in a bastard/illegitimate son setting, even though the protagonist wasn't one in the first place.
But in the webtoon, like I said, the MC is shallow and vulgar, and his dad, that son of a bitch, gets drunk and suddenly challenges him to a duel right in the middle of the territory in front of all the residents, saying he's gonna kill him or something?
Last chapter, his half-brother was looking at the MC like he was a bug, but this chapter he's suddenly super friendly and worried about him? What the hell.
I can clearly see the angle here: some stupid motherf*cker who can't make it on their own bought the rights and is trying to use it as a launchpad for their own 'original' story under the guise of adaptation. But it's dogshit boring, which is a shame because the artwork is wasted on it.
It's pure garbage.

"Fans are furious because the webtoon adaptation took a beloved novel and replaced its core themes and serious characters with generic, trashy tropes. They agree the creators are just using the original's name recognition to push their ego-driven, nonsensical fanfic."
